Refund & Returns Policy.

We want you to feel confident ordering from Harper Beds. This policy explains how returns, exchanges and refunds are handled for orders placed directly with us. It is intended as a clear summary for customers and does not affect your statutory rights under UK law.

1. Return window

For non-custom accessories and standard items, you may request a return within 14 days of the day you receive your order. Please contact us within this period so we can arrange collection or provide return instructions.

Many of our beds, headboards and mattresses are made to order. For these items, we may accept cancellations before production has begun. Once production is in progress, returns may not be possible except where goods are faulty or not as described. We will confirm whether your specific order is classed as made-to-order at the point of sale.

2. Condition of returned items

Returned items should be in a condition suitable for resale:

  • Clean, undamaged and free from marks, odours or pet hair.
  • With all parts, fittings and accessories included.
  • Where possible, in the original packaging or equivalent protective wrapping so that the item can be safely collected and transported.

We reserve the right to make a reasonable deduction from any refund if items have been handled in a way that goes beyond what is necessary to check their suitability, or if additional cleaning or repair is required.

3. Items that cannot be returned

The following items are generally not eligible for return unless they are faulty or not as described:

  • Bespoke or heavily customised products made to your specific measurements or fabric choices.
  • Mattresses and mattress toppers that have been slept on without a protective cover.
  • Products that have been assembled incorrectly or altered by the customer.

If you are unsure whether your order is classed as bespoke or non-returnable, please ask us before placing the order or as soon as possible afterwards.

4. How to request a return

To request a return, please contact us by email or phone with the following information:

  • Your full name and contact details.
  • Order number and date of purchase.
  • Details of the item(s) you wish to return.
  • A brief explanation of the reason for the return.
  • Clear photos of any damage, defects or incorrect items received, if applicable. This helps us resolve issues more quickly and avoid unnecessary collections.

We will confirm the next steps, including whether collection will be arranged by our delivery partners or whether you should return the item yourself.

5. Collections and return costs

For large items such as beds, headboards and mattresses, we will usually organise collection using our two-person delivery partners. The cost of collection may be:

  • Covered by us where items are faulty, damaged on arrival or not as described.
  • Deducted from your refund where you change your mind or ordered the wrong size or configuration. We will always inform you of any applicable collection charge before booking a return.

6. Refunds

Once the returned items have been received and inspected, we will process your refund as soon as reasonably possible. Refunds are normally issued to the original payment method.

We aim to process accepted refunds within 7–10 working days of receiving the goods back. Your bank or card provider may then take a further few days to make the funds available in your account.

If an item is found to be misused, altered or returned in an unsaleable condition, we may reduce your refund or, in some cases, decline the return. We will always explain our reasoning and provide photos where relevant.

7. Exchanges and replacements

Where appropriate, we may offer a replacement item or an exchange instead of a refund – for example, if an item has been damaged in transit. We will discuss available options with you based on stock and production capacity at the time.

8. Statutory rights
