Shipping Policy.

This page explains how we handle processing times, delivery services and access for larger items such as beds, headboards and mattresses. If you have any questions about delivery before you order, please contact us and we will be happy to help.

1. Processing time

Most Harper Beds products are made to order. Our typical lead time from order confirmation to dispatch is approximately 3–5 weeks, depending on the design, fabric and time of year.

When you place your order, we will provide an estimated delivery window. If there are any changes to this estimate – for example due to supplier delays or seasonal demand – we will contact you as soon as possible with an updated timeframe.

2. Delivery areas and charges

We currently deliver to most mainland UK postcodes. Some remote or hard-to-reach areas may be subject to longer lead times or an additional delivery charge. Where a surcharge applies, it will be clearly communicated before you confirm your order.

Standard delivery for eligible orders is carried out by a specialist two-person team and is usually included in the price you see at checkout. Any exceptions (for example for smaller accessories shipped by parcel courier) will be clearly stated on the product page.

3. Delivery services

For larger items such as beds, headboards and divan bases, we typically offer:

  • Standard two-person delivery to a room of your choice, subject to safe access.
  • Assembly service for many bed frames and bases, where our team will build the product in the chosen room.
  • Removal of packaging, so cardboard and plastic are taken away for recycling.

The exact services included will be confirmed when you book your delivery. If you require anything specific, such as removal of an old bed or mattress, please ask us in advance. Additional charges may apply for extra services.

4. Large item access

To help ensure a smooth delivery, please let us know about any access issues when you place your order, including:

  • Narrow staircases, tight corners or low ceilings.
  • Flats with no lift or restricted lift sizes.
  • Parking restrictions, gated access or time-limited loading bays.

Our delivery team will always do their best to place items in your chosen room, but they must be able to do so safely and without risking damage to your property or the goods. If access is not possible, we may need to leave items at ground level or rearrange delivery.

5. Delivery dates and time slots

Once your order is ready, our delivery partners will contact you to arrange a suitable delivery date and time slot. You will usually receive a confirmation message and, on the day of delivery, an estimated time window.

If you need to change an agreed delivery date, please let us or the delivery partner know as early as possible. Changes made at very short notice may be subject to a rearrangement fee.

6. Missed deliveries

If no one is present to receive the goods at the agreed time and we have not been informed in advance, the delivery may need to be rescheduled. In such cases, we reserve the right to charge a reasonable redelivery fee to cover the cost of the additional visit.

7. Damage on delivery

We take great care to ensure your order arrives in perfect condition. If you notice any visible damage to the packaging or the product on arrival:

  • Inform the delivery team immediately and note the issue on any paperwork or electronic device they use.
  • Take clear photos of the damage from several angles.
  • Contact us as soon as possible with your order number and photos so we can resolve the issue promptly.

Where damage is confirmed, we will work with you to arrange repair, replacement or another appropriate solution.

8. International shipping

At present, we primarily serve customers within mainland UK. If you are interested in delivery outside this area, please contact us before placing your order and we will advise whether we can help and what costs would apply.
